How to be sure the Maxi-Cosi Mica Eco i-Size is correctly installed in my car?
To ensure a correct installation, you need to follow the steps defined in the instruction manual. The indicator on the ISOFIX connectors and support leg will confirm correct installation. When ISOFIX buttons become green, it means that the ISOFIX connectors are correctly connected to the car. The display on top of the support leg provides a visual feedback for correct installation. When the indicator on top of the support leg becomes green, it ensures correct installation of the support leg. We strongly recommend you to always check these 2 indicators each time before driving. Can I install the Maxi-Cosi Mica Eco i-Size on the front passenger seat?
Yes, you can use the Mica Eco i-Size on the front passenger seat if the front seat is equipped with ISOFIX anchorages. When travelling rearward facing it is mandatory to always deactivate the airbag. When you use the Mica Eco i-Size forward facing it is mandatory to deactivate the airbag and we recommend to place the front passenger seat in the rearmost position. We invite you to check in your vehicle’s manual or in our car fitting list on our web site if Mica Eco i-Size can be installed in the front passenger seat. If you plan to install Mica Eco i-Size in forward facing position, in front passenger seat, you need to check the legislation in force in the country where the seat will be used. There is some restrictions depending on countries.

Why do babies and young childs have to travel in rearward facing position?
Babies have a large and relatively heavy head compared to the rest of their body. In addition, their neck muscles are not yet fully developed. If the baby is travelling in a forward-facing position, his or her head will be thrown forward in the event of a head-on collision. This can cause serious neck injury and may even be fatal. By placing the baby in a rearward facing position, the forces exerted during the crash will be distributed across the baby’s entire back. It is then safer to travel rearward facing with babies as long as possible.
How long can I place my child rearward-facing on the Maxi-Cosi Mica Eco i-Size?
Maxi-Cosi recommends you to use the seat in the rearward facing position for as long as possible and up to 105 cm. This will significantly improve the protection of the head and neck of the child, which is still very fragile at this age.

Maxi-Cosi recommends you to use the Mica Eco i-Size car seat as long as possible in a rearward facing position (up to 105 cm or at least when your child has a minimum of 15 months of age) since this enhances the safety for your child in case of frontal collisions. According to the regulation, children must travel rearward facing up to 15 months of age. Maxi-Cosi strongly recommends to keep your child rearward facing as long as possible and up to 105 cm to better protect the baby's fragile head and neck in case of accidents. Therefore, the Mica Eco i-Size can be used in a forward facing position when your child is older than 15 months and at least 76 up to 105 cm in length.
How can I wash the Maxi-Cosi Mica Eco i-Size cover?
The cover, headrest cover and shoulder pads can be removed for washing. Before cleaning, check the label sewn into the different part of the fabric. You will find the wash symbols indicating the method of washing each item. If the cover needs to be replaced at any time, only use official Maxi-Cosi covers because it constitutes an integral part of the restraint performance. To clean the shell, you can use a damp cloth.
How to adjust the Maxi-Cosi Mica Eco i-Size harness?
The harness is adjustable together with the headrest. To adjust the harness, you need to first loosen the harness by pushing the harness soft adjuster button (located at the front on top of the seat), and pull out the harness belts. Then, by pressing the button at the back of the headrest, you can adjust the headrest by moving it up or down. Once done, you can install the child and tighten the harness by using the harness adjuster strap at the front.
How tight should I fasten the safety harness system?
To fasten the harness correctly it is key to restrain the child well in the Mica Eco i-Size car seat. You need to pull the harness adjuster strap until the harness is close the the child's body. If the harness is correctly tight, you should be able to pass only 1 finger between your child's body and the harness strap. The tighther the harness is, the better your child will be restrained and the safer he/she is in case of an accident.
Why does the Maxi-Cosi Mica Eco i-Size have a 5-point safety harness?
The 5-point safety harness distributes the forces of an impact best over the strong bones of the child and into the seat. Additionally, it allows perfect adjustment of the child and keeps him secured in the safest position in the seat.
What is the right position/height for the safety harness?
The harness straps should be placed at the level of the shoulders, not coming from above nor below. The headrest is adjusted together with the safety harness.
Can the anti-slip shoulder pads material be painful for child during the summer?
The anti-slip harness pads play an important safety role. It offers high restraint performance by reducing forward facing movement in case of a frontal impact. This material has been selected for these high performance restraint criteria and because it is soft, it is not painful for the child regardless of the temperature in the car. As it is part of the safety of the Mica Eco i-Size, you always need to use the harness of the car seat.
What should I do if my child opens the buckle of his safety harness?
In this case, we recommend that you stop immediately in a safe place, fasten the buckle once more and tell the child he should not open it and the reason for this. It is always a possibility that an inventive, handy or strong child will open the buckle. If the force required to open the buckle were to be considerably increased to make it impossible for the child to open it himself, this would be contrary to the legal safety standards. The position of the buckle, the colour of the button, and the operating or opening force are all determined in European standards.
What is the right position for the headrest of my child car seat?
The headrest should be positioned in such a way that in a forward facing position the eyes and ears of the child are located in the middle of the headrest. This means that the child's head can exceed the headrest in foward facing position. In a rearward facing position the head should not exceed the headrest.
