FAQs
Can the 2wayFix base be installed in any car?
The 2wayFix can be installed in most cars equipped with the ISOFIX system. There are however some exceptions to this. Please consult our Car Fitting List
What is the best way to store the support leg?
Make sure the support leg is totally folded in (as short as possible). Then, place the support leg to the insde onto the base and extend the support leg subsequently a little (approx. 1 cm). Like this, the support leg will remain in this position.
Is it still safe to use the 2wayFix if the batteries have gone dead?
Once installed, the safety performance is not affected by the batteries; the lights and sound serve only to indicate correct or incorrect installation. When the batteries are low in voltage, this will be indicated by the LED light visually and by a sound warning. You can change the batteries easily from the bottom of the 2wayFix base. On average, the batteries will last for approximately 2 years.
The display indicator with two connected dots remains red, what can I do?
The light with two connected dots indicates a correct installation of the support leg of the 2wayFix. Make sure that the support leg is totally unfolded so that the angle of the support leg is slightly towards the front. Please consult the manual for more information on the interactive display.
What is the function of the anti-rebound bar on the 2wayFix?
The anti-rebound bar brings more stability and safety for longer rearward facing use. In combination with the 2wayPearl, the 2wayFix can be used up to 105 cm (approx. 4 years) rearward facing.
Can I install the Pebble Plus with 2wayFix on the front passenger seat?
Yes, you may install the Pebble Plus on the 2wayFix on the front passenger seat if that seat has ISOFIX anchor points. VERY IMPORTANT to make sure that the airbag has been deactivated. Most cars do not have ISOFIX anchorages in the front passenger seat.
From when can I use the 2wayPearl forward facing?
We recommend using the 2wayPearl as long as possible (until 105 cm or approx. 4 years) in a rearward facing position since this enhances the safety for your child in frontal collisions. The 2wayPearl can be used though in a forward facing position when your child is at least 15 months old. By then the child’s neck is strong enough to withstand the impulsive force of an average frontal collision.
I notice that there is a gap between the 2wayFix and my vehicle bench. Is this safe?
This happens in some vehicles configurations where the ISOFIX anchorages are positioned high compared to the vehicle bench. As long as the 2 ISOFIX connectors and the support leg of the 2wayFix are engaged correctly (respective indicators green), this is safe. The support leg can also be adjusted in height in order to reduce the gap. This gap does not affect safety in any case and it is not allowed to fill the gap in any way whatsoever.
